We have a limited practice in the area of Family Law and restrict our services to helping clients whose approach to their family issues is in line with our firm philosophies and where we can be most effective.

We work with clients in negotiating and preparing inter-spousal contracts, including pre nuptial agreements and separation agreements, and will also assist with uncontested divorce matters.

Where matters require third party intervention, as negotiation is not resolving all issues, we work with referral partners who provide mediation and collaborative law services. We also work with and support other alternative dispute programs like Fairway Divorce Solutions – a private company assisting with separation and divorce.

We will only act in very limited circumstances where the parties are not working together to resolve matters and instead are choosing to litigate and have a court determine their family affairs. While we do appreciate that some matters can not be resolved by negotiation because one or both partners are not cooperating, we strongly believe that litigated results are rarely satisfactory to either party. We have referral partners we work with when matters can not be resolved through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution who practice primarily in litigation matters.

We strongly believe that the only effective resolution to family matters is where both parties participate and work together to resolve their issues. A negotiated arrangement is much more likely to be effective as both parties are involved in the creation of the arrangement and take more ownership in it.
